About us
Understand the story
Mapou is a tribute to the strength, beauty, and resilience of Haitian culture. Haiti is rich in music, poetry, food, and art, yet it is too often overlooked or misunderstood. Like the sacred Mapou tree—a symbol of wisdom, power, and legacy—Haitian culture stands tall, deeply rooted, and impossible to ignore.
In Haitian tradition, when someone says “Yon pye mapou tonbe” (A Mapou tree has fallen), it marks the passing of someone great — someone whose presence shaped the community. That reverence reflects precisely how we see Haitian culture: majestic, powerful, and worthy of celebration.
Mapou exists to honor that legacy and create unforgettable experiences that amplify Haitian voices, creativity, and stories worldwide.

Our goal
To put Haitian culture on the global map — through curated experiences that inspire, connect, and uplift.
Our Mission
To celebrate and elevate Haitian culture through advocacy, education, entertainment, and environmental action.
In honor of the tree that bears our name, Mapou is also committed to supporting reforestation efforts in Haiti, helping restore the endangered Mapou trees, and protecting Haiti’s natural and cultural heritage.
Culture
Through music, poetry, food, fashion, and art — Mapou shines a light on Haiti’s extraordinary creative spirit.
Celebrate
We create experiences and platforms that celebrate Haitian culture, connect communities, and tell stories that matter.
Reforestation
Beyond the culture, we honor the land. Mapou is committed to supporting reforestation efforts in Haiti — helping restore the sacred Mapou trees that are now on the verge of extinction.
